ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - A bit of Austin flair could soon park itself just north in Round Rock.
On Thursday night, Council members voted to move forward on a deal that could launch the city’s first food trailer court.
As these popular lots continue their spread across Austin, trailers like Star Co. Coffee on South Congress Avenue have plans to move to Round Rock if the Council approves the plan.
Owner Shawn Faulk – who already has a coffee shop in Round Rock – is a supporter of the endeavor.
"It’s just a good idea," said Faulk, who is set to invest up to $20,000 to establish Round Rock’s downtown location at 500 North Mays St. "This area needs something like this, and it makes sense for businesses like mine when it comes to competition."
The trailer court would have a one-year trial period. With success, the project could have a longer life.
