LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) - Rescued purebred dogs and pups will be available for adoption on Saturday from 11 a.m . to 5 p.m ., and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. by Humane Society of Williamson County .

A local business, Grooms by Leah , provided these precious pups with their pro-bono grooming services making them ready to find their forever homes. The dogs will return from their spa day at 4 p.m. Friday with a brand new look.

Breeds include Scottish Terriers, Pomeranians, Maltese, Schnauzers and Chihuahuas.

HSWC also has as many as 150 other dogs, cats, puppies and kittens all seeking forever homes. Adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped.

Adopters also receive 30 days of free pet health insurance, a free initial pet exam at Zoot Pet Hospital , discount coupons to local groomers and a free bag of starter food.

Last week, 35 purebred dogs and pups rescued from a local breeder closure were available for adoption. Unfortunately, a handful of them did not get adopted, most likely because they were in need of intensive grooming following their years living outdoors at the breeding facility.
