Police: Mom threw baby across the room

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A 19-month-old baby is recovering from skull fractures after allegedly being thrown across a room by his stepmother in their Leander home.

According to an arrest affidavit, Angelica Bradley, 24, was taking care of her stepson last Thursday while her husband was at work.

Bradley told investigators she became frustrated with the boy because he was supposed to be potty-training but he ended up urinating on the floor, so she picked him up and threw him across the living room.

When she went to pick up the child, Bradley saw blood coming out of his ear so she got barber shears and shaved his hair to look for the injury on his head. When she saw the injury on the child’s head, she took him to the Cedar Park Medical Center but because his injuries were severe, the child was transported to Dell Children’s Medical Center for treatment.

Doctors at Dell Children’s said the child had two skull fractures, bruises over his right eye and several other bruises to his forehead. Doctors also indicated that there was evidence of an older skull fracture on the child’s head.

Bradley was arrested by Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and charged with injury to child. Her bond has been set at $150,000.

Child Protective Services is also investigating the case.
