New medical clinic opens in Leander

LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) - Monday marked the opening of a new 12,000-square-foot Scott & White Healthcare facility in Leander. The site houses primary care physicians, specialty physicians and physical therapy services. Specialty care services include cardiology, psychology, orthopedics, and podiatry.

The clinic features 14 exam rooms, two treatment rooms, on-site X-ray, laboratory services, two physical therpists and a physical therapy rehabilitation gym.

Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Physical therapy services are available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. it is located at 1007 S. U.S. Highway 183.

“By bringing family medicine and specialty medical care to Leander , we can better serve our patients and bring them the care they need closer to home,” said Colleen Sundquist, regional clinic administrator for Scott & White Healthcare – Round Rock. “We responded to a growing need in the community for family medicine, specialty care and physical therapy services by building this clinic in Leander.  A Leander location offers more convenient care in the right place at the right time for patients coming in from outlying communities like Liberty Hill.”

Benjamin Smith, M.D., a family medicine physician, expands his practice to join the Leander clinic and will also continue seeing patients at Scott & White’s Cedar Park Clinic. In Leander, he will serve as the new clinic’s Medical Director.

Lynne Scanlan, D.O., family medicine physician, also will see patients at the new clinic.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Thursday, Feb. 2, at 4 p.m.
