ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - Postal inspectors tipped Williamson County Sheriff's Office to a suspicious package, which led deputies to make a marijuana arrest this week.

William Richard Black was arrested and charged with possession of a quantity of marijuana more than four ounces but less than five pounds.

Tuesday, postal inspectors intercepted a package from California that they identified as suspicious. Williamson County drug dogs alerted deputies to illegal drugs, according to the affidavit.

As part of the investigation, the postal inspector went undercover as a postal carrier and delivered the package to its intended destination on River Crossing Trail.

Deputies searched the house and found two gallon-size plastic bags containing marijuana plus digital scales and drug paraphernalia. A third gallon-size bag of marijuana was found hidden in the bedroom clothes hamper.

Black admitted to paying $2,000 for the marijuana with the intent to sell it for profit, officials said.
