ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - It might only be one day old but the Rock'N Lights Holiday Light Tour at Old Settler's Park is getting rave reviews from visitors.
To visit, you don't even have to get out of your car! The show has two million lights and is a one and a half mile driving tour through the park. More than 300 cars came through the first night.
"If the first night is any indication, we've got a hit on our hands," said Rick Atkins, Director of Round Rock's Parks and Recreation. "We expects thousands upon thousands on people for the next -- I'm going to say 26 or 27 days."
Ever though you're in a car, twinkling lights can be seen from any window. Both sides of the tour are decorated with Santa, city landmarks like the old city water tower and carnival rides at the end of the tour.
This is the first year the City of Round Rock has ventured into the Christmas lights show business but they say general funds can't pay for everything, that's why admission is $15 per vehicle.
"W e're trying to make it affordable to everybody," added Atkins, "And it helps us to do these things in our community and not just rely on the general funds."
Rock'N Lights admission is $15 for family vehicles, $50 for limos, $45 for shuttle buses (9-30 people) and $75 for commercial buses (31+ people). Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and holidays.
