"I'm really grateful for them," Nataly said. "For what they did."
It was a team effort involving hundreds of students and teachers.
"[We] started collecting money and doing the different things you do to raise money for fundraisers," said Matthew Groff, "And it took about a month or a little less than a month to raise over $5,000."
Nataly was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just a few months ago.
Make-A-Wish says the week long trip for her and her five family members should be fun but also a huge emotional lift for the entire family.
"It gives them something to look forward to," said Lauren Bremer of Make-a-Wish of Central and South Texas. "Some of these chemo treatments can last three years. And often times families want to save that wish and use it as a celebration at the end of treatment."
But now it's pay-off time. To spur the students and staff to meet their fundraising goal, Groff told his students he would spend the night on the school roof for one night if goals were met.
On Wednesday afternoon, Groff rounded up his clothes and his camping gear as he reached back to his Boy Scout experience to prepare for the long night ahead. As he puts his one man tent together he said there's no looking back.
"I'm going through with it," Groff said. "Like I said, I'm a man of my word. Kids are looking forward to it and I don't want to let them down."
