Jewelry store robbed; thief starts fire

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) - A woman who was acting suspiciously allegedly lit fire to a liquid that she poured in a jewelry store before taking jewelry and running from the building on Monday afternoon, according to the owner of QT Jewelers.

Police said it happened around 1:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Sundance Parkway in South Round Rock, though the woman did not display a weapon.

When she tried to run out the door, employees locked it. That's when she started the fire, police said. She ran out the back door, taking with her jewelry valued at about $13,000.

Round Rock police are looking for a woman described as:

• Asian
• very light complexion
• large mole on her face near the nose
• approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall
• Weighing about 130- to 150 pounds
• In her early 40s
• wearing a black shirt, black pants and red knit hat
• wearing a white sweatshirt jacket with a hood
• wearing prescription glasses
