GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) - A 72-bed mental health facility got the go-ahead from Georgetown City Council after a unanimous vote, 6-0, with one Council member not in attendance.
Greg Oakley with Springstone Hospital said that the hospital will be a 51,000 square-foot, $14 million facility located on 10 acres on Southeast Inner Loop, according to Keith Hutchinson, spokesman for the city of Georgetown.
Springstone Hospital is expected to employ 150 people, including doctors, nurses, and other medical and support staff.

The Georgetown Planning and Zoning Commission first reviewed the company's zoning proposal on Sept. 18, then gave the approval for the project on Oct. 2. City staff recommended approval of the site development.
Construction will begin in early 2013 and open by the end of 2013.
