PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) - Texas Department of Public Safety crews broke ground on the driver's license megacenter in Pflugerville Thursday morning.
It's part of a $63 million initiative to help cut down on wait times for citizens who currently spend hours at a time when getting a new or renewing driver's licenses.
DPS officials said they have plans to build six of them throughout the state, but the Pflugerville center will be the only one in Central Texas.
The new center is at at Wells Branch Parkway and Heatherwilde Boulevard.
