AUSTIN (KXAN) - A mysterious marijuana delivery to a Round Rock apartment complex last Friday at the Monterone Apartments landed a man in jail.

When a member of management was putting the box away for safe keeping, he caught the whiff of the distinctive smell of marijuana.

He called the security guard of the complex to make sure what he was smelling was pot, according to an arrest warrant.

That security guard, who is also a Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy, said he opened a duffle bag inside the box and found "a large quantity of marijuana packaged in plastic baggies."

Another box with the same name and address was soon delivered. It, along with the first box, had about 12.5 pounds of pot.

Monday, Deputies contacted the person the boxes were addressed to, Colby Hutcherson, 25.

Authorities explained to Hutcherson that his packages had been delievered to the wrong place because there was a number on the address to him, and they told him the packages were waiting for him at the front desk.

Hutcherson thanked them and came down to pick them up, but that is when Williamson County sheriff's deputies arrested him, according to the warrant.

Officials searched Hutcherson's apartment, and investigators said they found magic mushrooms, nearly 3 more pounds of pot, a gun and a bill counter.
