WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A routine traffic stop along IH-35 in Williamson County on Monday afternoon leads to deputies finding cocaine hidden in vehicle batteries.

The Williamson County Sherrif's Office said they pulled Amado Tijerina, 49, over for driving in a passing lane impeding traffic to go around him. When asked where he was going, Tijerina said he was traveling to Dallas from Mission .

Tijerina gave consent for the vehicle to be searched. a K-9 alerted deputies to two car batteries in the engine compartment of the pickup truck.

Authorities said they found six packages of cocaine -- net weight around 6 kilograms -- hidden in the batteries. The drugs have a street value of $200,000.

Tijerina was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
