WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A man is in custody and charged with buying illegal bath salts, which authorities say he had shipped to him from China. It is the largest quantity of the drug seized in Austin to date, at three kilograms.

Drug enforcement officials arrested Jessie Olivieri, 27, at his apartment in the 9400 block of West Parmer Lane on Wednesday.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Pharmaceutical Squad conducted the investigation, and one member posed as a delivery man in taking the package of Methylone to Olivieri's residence.

They also found additional illegal drugs and three firearms, one of which was a stolen handgun, in Olivieri's apartment, according to police

"I was shocked because I thought I was in a safe community," said a woman named Ellen who asked that her last name not be disclosed.

The pharmaceutical squad consists of officials from the Drug Enforcement Administration , Austin Police Department , Williamson County Constables Office Pct. 2 and the Williamson County Sheriff's Office .

The bust was part of a national investigation called Operation Log Jam , according to Greg Thrash with DEA.

According to The Associated Press, more than 210,000 packets of synthetic drugs were seized in six states and a total of six arrested.
