AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin and numerous other Central Texas communities have canceled their Fourth of July fireworks show and are prohibiting private uses of fireworks because of the severe danger of wildfires.
And Austin's ban coincides with the Austin Symphony's decision to shelve its annual July 4 celebration because of fundraising difficulties.
Meanwhile, some area communities are finalizing their plans for the Fourth of July and are expecting larger than normal crowds due to the circumstances.
Georgetown officials expect a crowd of 50,000 at its fireworks show located at San Gabriel Park . The fireworks can be viewed from across the San Gabriel river starting at sundown. Extra precautions are planned this year to minimize fire danger, the city says.
The Kyle Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show is still on but has moved to the southwest corner of Kyle Parkway and Kohler's Crossing. The fireworks will be set off from the Plum Creek Golf Course and are scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. Click here for a list of events in Kyle.

Update 6/23/11: The city of Round Rock has decided to not have fireworks for the Fourth, but they will have it in December. The fireworks show will be rescheduled to coincide with the City’s annual Christmas Family Night Celebration on Dec. 9. Pflugerville city officials said this year’s fireworks show at Pfirecracker Pfestival at Lake Pflugerville is canceled. The lake will remain open for public use but there will be no fireworks of any kind permitted.
In Cedar Park, the fireworks show is a no-go, but residents can watch Arcattack, as seen on America’s got Talent, perform at Milburn Park starting at 4 p.m. A washer tournament, sack races, bingo and free watermelon are also part of the schedule of events.
According to the Leander Ledger, the City Council approved a laser light show as opposed to a traditional firework display this year.
The Lexington Chamber of Commerce has also canceled its annual event.
Horseshoe Bay says their firework show is still a go. It'll start at dusk on Sunday July 3rd at the Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club.

Most counties are also enforcing bans on the private use of fireworks in their unincorporated areas.
Travis, Williamson, Bastrop, Hays and Caldwell counties are banning the sale and use of fireworks through July 5.
So far, Blanco is only banning the use of missiles and skyrockets.
Burnet County is currently banning the sale and use of fireworks until July 16. The ban could be extended at that time.
