AUSTIN (KXAN) - A potent upper-level low-pressure system raced into Texas Wednesday morning, bringing a brief but heavy rain around the noon hour - and surprising some residents with small hail.

Sleet and hail was reported east of Del Valle and around William Cannon near I-35. No injuries were reported.

Watches and Warnings will update automatically on our maps on all our sources for weather, including our Web site, mobile.kxan.com and our Apple iPhone app.

A "slight risk for severe weather" typically means we have a small, but measurable, chance for high wind, heavy rain, lightning, hail and a remote chance for tornadic weather.

Stay tuned to keep up with the very latest on this storm system as it tracks through Texas.
