Texas sex offender caught in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KXAN) - Rapid City, SD, police Friday arrested a man who is on the Texas Department of Public Safety "10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders" list.

Leonard Eugene Wilson, 26, was found after Texas authorities received a tip about his location and informed Rapid City officials. The last known locations for Wilson were in Austin and Waco, Texas. He was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender and other sex crimes.

Wilson's criminal history includes convictions for aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child by sexual contact, indecency with a child by exposure and failure to register as a sex offender. He had been wanted since 2008.

The 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list is available for public view. DPS officials advise the public not to attempt to apprehend these criminals as they are considered dangerous .
