Days-long search for mom believed to have drowned

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Missing since early Wednesday morning, authorities continue their search Friday for a 51-year-old mother, who is believed to have been driving her black Lexus SUV when heavy rains swept her into Bull Creek.

Officials said Jennifer Louise Ring drove her vehicle past barricades at the Bull Creek crossing on RM 2222 when the overflowing Bull Creek waters took her vehicle with her inside.

It happend just a couple of miles away from her family's home off Loop 360.

After the sun rose and water receded Wednesday, searchers found the woman's smashed black Lexus, without a sign of the driver. The rescue search turned into a recovery mission late Wednesday, as rescuers presumed that she had drowned.

Ring is married and has two teenagers who attend school in West Lake Hills.

In a similar incident, another woman was swept into Bull Creek early Wednesday morning after witnesses said they saw her Mercedes go through the low water crossing before barricades were up on one side.

Officials said she was able to swim to safety and was plucked from the water behind the County Line restaurant.

Rescuers found the Mercedes later that Wednesday.
