(AP) - The following recalls have been announced because the products may be contaminated with salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.
Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods Market is recalling its 365 Everyday Value brand in-shell Dry Roasted and Salted Pistachios. The company said it has received no reports of illness related to the product.
The recall involves 16-ounce packages of 365 Everyday Value brand Dry Roasted and Salted Pistachios with best-before dates of July 8, 2009 GL1, July 8, 2009 GL2, and Nov. 27, 2009 GL1 and UPC code of 99482-40435. For more information, consumers can call (512) 542-0656.
Kar Nut Products Co.
The Kar Nut Products Co. is recalling Kar's and Second Nature products containing pistachio nuts. No illnesses related to the products have been reported.

Pine River Pre-Pack Inc. is recalling small packaged items of Pine River-Deluxe Mix Nuts with Peanuts. The company said it has not received any reports of illnesses.
