Restaurant Jezebel fire extinguished

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Fire Department investigators were at a Downtown Austin restaurant early Monday morning trying to determine what caused a blaze that broke out.

The small fire happened around 7 a.m. at Restaurant Jezebel at 914 Congress Ave.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the small, smoldering fire.

Investigators said they are not sure if the fire started in the kitchen or in another area of the restaurant.

Damage is estimated at $150,000 for the structure and $150,000 for the content. No injuries were reported.

There is no word on when the restaurant will reopen. Meanwhile, the blaze remains under investigation.
