AUSTIN (KXAN) - People who live near a pump station that spilled sewage into Bull Creek last week said the city is underestimating the size of the spill.
The pump station at Spicewood Springs Road west of U.S. Highway 183 failed after it was struck by lightning last week.
The city reported a 100,000 gallon leak the day after Tropical Storm Hermine passed through.
However, people who live nearby said it is bigger than that and that it is still leaking, days after the storm.
They said they worried about people who live downstream and who get their drinking water from in-ground wells.
Neighbors said they have seen city workers out every day since the flood, but there were no crews out preparing the pumping station for the storm the day before it hit.
