AUSTIN (KXAN) - Two weeks ago about 150 dogs were rescued from a home in Bastrop in one of the largest dog-hoarding cases in the area.
Since that time, 89 dogs have found new homes and 19 puppies have been born from those that were seized. The pups will remain in foster care until they are old enough to be adopted.
Twenty-one of the remaining dogs are now available for adoption from the humane society.
The Austin Humane Society continues to care for and prepare the remaining dogs to go to new homes.
Twelve of the dogs seized are yet receiving specialized care at the shelter, and 49 of the dogs are in foster care, waiting to become ready for adoption.
