AUSTIN (KXAN) - After battling an apartment blaze in North Austin for about an hour, firefighters have extinguished the fire that damaged two apartments and an attic.

The fire erupted inside the bathroom wall of a unit at the Terracina apartments , which produced minor fire damage to the apartments and attic and caused water damage for two others.

Austin Fire Department crews had to open the roof to access the fire and put it out.

Emergency crews treated an apartment complex employee on scene for smoke inhalation.

Fire officials said the occupants of three apartments will be temporarily displaced, and damage estimates are set at $20,000 for the structure and $1,000 for the contents.

Officials said the cause of the blaze is accidental, caused by a plumber "sweating" the pipes during repair.
