Pedestrian on I-35 struck and killed

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A woman died after being struck by a truck on Interstate Highway 35 South around 1 p.m. on Friday.

Austin police said the female pedestrian was on the southbound lanes of the freeway, near Slaughter Lane, when the accident happened.   

The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge , she died a short time later. 

It is unclear if she was trying to get to the other side of the freeway.
