AUSTIN (KXAN) - A new parking garage, though only 60 percent finished, is aimed at making Downtown Austin parking a little easier.
Builders said they believe the garage will service customers of nearby businesses, including several nightclubs. Still, some nearby customers said the extra parking is unnecessary.
The new parking garage will be located between Neches and Trinity streets on Ninth Street . It will be across from the First Baptist Church .
The city also has plans in place to replace coin meters with modern meters that take credit cards. The revamp will start off of Congress Avenue and is scheduled to kick off July 17.
The garage development is expected to be complete in mid-October.
