AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire at 12820 N. Lamar Blvd., just north of Parmer Lane. AFD said a natural gas leak might be to blame.
More than a dozen units arrived on scene shortly before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, and they said they saw fire and smoke from the third floor of the three-story Villages of Sage Creeek apartment complex.
Fire officials said the fire was confined to one third-floor
apartment because the sprinkler system worked well and gave
firefighters an extreme advantage. One apartment sustained fire
damage, and a couple others had water damage. The fire originated
in a water heater closet.
