AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin City Council Thursday approved nearly $2 million for construction of a new recreation center to be built near West Rundberg Lane.

The YMCA will run the center for its first 20 years, according to officials.

The center will include two swimming pools, a yoga studio, cardio workout and weight areas.

The expected cost to build the facility will be more than $8 million.

Voters approved the money for the recreation center in the 2006 bond package.
