Man dies in morning motorcyle crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A fatal motorcycle crash at the intersection of 51st Street and Springdale Road early Thursday morning left the rider dead.

Police said a man on a motorcycle was heading west when a driver in car pulled through the intersection going southbound. The two slammed into each other around 2:55 a.m. Thursday, and officers said the rider sustained massive injuries.

He was transported to Brackenridge Hospital where he later died.

Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in this deadly wreck. The man's identity will not be released until family has been notified.
