AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police have arrested two men in the death of Nicolas Sustaita-Villanueva, 43.

Police said Sustaita-Villanueva was stabbed to death on Sunday in the parking lot of his apartment complex in the 8600 block of Research Boulevard by Carlos Kyles, 30, and Joseph Moraga, 26.

After reviewing surveillance video from the apartment complex, detectives noticed that two men were dropped off at the apartment complex by a taxi around 7 p.m. on the day of the incident.

Ten minutes later, the video showed the two men, along with a woman, running away from the apartment. The victim was then seen chasing after one of the suspect’s and an altercation ensued where Sustaita-Villanueva was stabbed in the chest.

According to the arrest affidavit, while looking through the victim’s cellphone records, they noticed the victim had numerous phone calls from a woman named “Pati.”

Police were able to locate Patsy “Pati” Estrada, as well as Kyles, at a motel in the 800 block of E. Anderson Lane,

While searching the room, Moraga came in and was apprehended as well.

Estrada admitted to detectives that she went to the victim's apartment and had sex with him for money but when he didn’t pay her immediately, she called Moraga and Kyles for help.

Authorities said Estrada indicated that Moraga was the person that stabbed the victim.

Kyles was arrested on the same day as his birthday.
