Light showers may persist into evening

Small chance for rain this weekend

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Early afternoon showers dampened sidewalks and cooled down Austin City Limits Music Festival -goers in downtown.

The cloud is moving north, but there’s a small chance of light, spotty rain throughout the early evening and weekend, Natalie Stoll, KXAN meteorologist said.

Temperatures dropped to the upper 80s this afternoon, but are expected to rise back to the mid-to-low 90s for the weekend, and concert-goers can expect it to be humid.

The showers made no dent on the drought, Stoll said.

“It was too small and too light,” Stoll said. “We need several large [weather] systems dropping inches upon inches of rain to make a real dent.”
