AUSTIN (KXAN) - Dr. Sanjay Sharma, a surgeon with the Seton Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery discusses lawnmower safety and the kind of accidents he sees at Seton.

According to the U.S. Product Safety Commission, approximately 200,000 lawnmower-related accidents occur each year in this country. About 16,000 of those injured are children. With the weather warming, grass growing and kids preparing to start summer vacations from school - adults and children will be mowing family yards.

Dr. Sharma says he sees 40 to 60 lawnmower accident victims every year in the emergency room - mostly during the spring and summer.
