AUSTIN (KXAN) - Texas Highway Patrol troopers are looking for the driver of a gray truck that was seen in the area of a fatal car accident on Wednesday afternoon on US 290 in southwest Travis County.
Officials said Arthur Sims, 62, from Dripping Springs, died when the SUV he was in was struck by an 18-wheeler.
DPS report indicates Sims was traveling eastbound on SH 290 when he turned into the westbound lanes and was struck by the 18-wheeler, which then pushed him into a box truck.
Witnesses told DPS that an unidentified gray truck may have caused Mr. Sims' vehicle to swerve into the westbound lanes, causing the crash.
Investigators want to talk with the driver of the gray truck about what happened in the moments leading up to the crash.
Anyone with information about the crash, the location of the vehicle or the driver is urged to call the Highway Patrol Communications office at 1-800-525-5555.
