SPICEWOOD, Texas (KXAN) - Spicewood residents hadn't seen water under their docks in far too long - until Thursday morning, that is

At Highway 71 West in Spicewood near Pace Bend Road, there was a constant flow of neighbors that came to take pictures and share stories about the earlier pouring rain.

This section of the Pedernales River did not appear to have flooded, but long-time Spicewood residents said flash flooding is nothing new to the area.

Still, the downpour surprised most people KXAN Austin News spoke with. Residents in the area said after the long drought, the rain is a relief because businesses have been suffering.

This section of the river did not suffer as bad as other areas, but there are reports of broken boat docks.
