BELL COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Smoke from a large brush fire in Bell County on Tuesday afternoon could be seen in Bastrop County.

According to the Texas Forest Service, the fire started at Iron Bridge Park, near Moody.

As of 6 p.m., the fire has burned 150 acres and is 30 percent contained.

Officials say nine families have been evacuated.

KCEN, an NBC affiliate in Waco, says a campground site about a mile away called Winkler Park has been evacuated as well.

The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management says they received several calls from residents saying they saw the smoke, but wasn't sure where it was coming from.
