SAN SABA, Texas (KXAN) - Because San San Independent School District officials are trying to finish the school year before June, teachers and students are spending their Labor Day in class Monday.

District officials said they want to finish the year out before June so that they can start construction on several buildings this coming summer.

Teachers reviewed several calendars and gave input on the new school year calendar, finally deciding to go ahead with school on Labor Day.
