AUSTIN (KXAN) - It was bound to happen eventually.
The first freeze warning of the autumn season has been issued for the Austin metro area, including Williamson, Travis and Hays counties.
The warning also includes the Hill Country, where some areas could experience a hard freeze for several hours early Wednesday morning.
In the Austin area, temperatures in valleys and other low-lying areas could briefly fall to the upper 20s to low 30s early Wednesday. In the Hill Country, readings in the middle 20s will be possible in the coldest areas.
Crops and sensitive vegetation could by killed by the cold temperatures.
