Lightning causes fire in Hays County

DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas (KXAN) - A fire caused by lightning in Dripping Springs destroys a house.

The fire started around 7 p.m. Monday on 15970 E. Fitzhugh Road , about two miles west of Ranch Road 12 and near the Triple Creek Ranch housing development. 

Neighbors reported hearing a large boom before the fire started. 

Hays County spokesman Leroy Opiela said he was not aware of any people inside the home at the time of the fire.
