MARBLE FALLS, Texas (KXAN) - A pickup truck with six Marble Falls students on board lost control, veered off a narrow roadway north of the city limits and flipped tossing some of the students from the truck.
All survived but one, a lively freshman named Mylie. She died four days after the accident.
"Mylie always had a smile on her face and always was the life of the classroom and the party," said Allen Roberts with the Marble Falls school district. "She was a dream."
Roberts says the accident has left many students in mourning and stressed while they try to make sense of it all. Extra counselors and staff were made available to talk to students.
"We have counselors on call that will go with those students, and group counseling that will help these students get through these hard times," added Roberts.
A Department of Public Safety official said they have not determined an official cause of the accident yet and are still talking to passengers, witnesses and family members.
Meanwhile, the crash site has become a makeshift memorial in memory of Mylie with notes and messages from friends who say she was loved and will always be remembered.
"She will be missed. She will not be forgotten," said Roberts.
