KINGSLAND, Texas (KXAN) - Three months away from officially opening, the currently under-construction Seton Kingsland Healthcare Center is now nothing more than a steel frame.
Around 6 p.m. on Monday, witnesses tell KXAN News the facility located on Ranch Road 2900, between Ridgeview and Knob Hill Street, caught on fire and sent smoke billowing into the air.
Michelle Robertson, president of Seton Healthcare Family North Group, said the building was completely destroyed and they're still working with authorities to determine what might have caused the fire.
Construction on the clinic had been going on for four months and was slated to open in September. Roberton said the building was close to completion.
Upon completion, the clinic would have had 12 exam rooms as well as a community room for health education and other public events.
The clinic is located between Ridgeview and Nob Hill Streets, in the middle of the Kingsland business community.
