LLANO COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Llano County Sheriff's Office shot and killed a man Monday after pointing a gun at authorities, a DPS spokesman said.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when officers resoinded to a 911 call that shots had been fired in the 100 block Senisa Court in Llano County.
Tom Viger of DPS said the 49-year-old man, identified as William Charles Lipscombe,, refused officers' orders that he put down the weapon.
"Troopers responded by firing at the man, who died at the scene," Vinger said in an email. "Texas Rangers are investigating the incident and no other information is available at this time"
