KINGSLAND, Texas (KXAN) - A Kingsland woman was found dead on the side of the road Saturday morning between 1:15 to 1:30 a.m. FM 1431 in between Kingsland and Highway 29. Laura Peck, 31, fell out of a moving pickup truck, but investigators do not know if she was pushed out or if she jumped out. A long-time acquaintance of Peck's was driving the pickup she was in. He is being questioned by Llano County investigators, along with other people who were at the bar that night.

The two had just left Pat's Bar on FM 1431. Peck fell out of the passenger side about a mile down the road toward Kingsland. The victim's mother was in another car behind the truck, but investigators said she was too far back to witness what happened. Llano County Chief Deputy John Neff said the fall from the moving vehicle is what caused Peck's death. Call the LLano County Sheriff's Office at (325) 247-5767 if you have any information.
