SAN MARCO, Texas (KXAN) - A San Marcos billiards hall caught fire early Friday and crews from several jurisdictions were called in to help put it out.

The San Marcos Fire Department arrived Gold Crown Billiards at 205 W. San Antonio St., and Fire Chief Les Stephens took the lead. His crew reported fire and smoke from a near building.

Firefighters split into two teams. One forced their way through the back door while the other crew was sent to the roof to cut a ventilation hole to help the other team battle the smoke and fire from inside.

Firefighters reported a serious fire near the keg cooler but they were able to put it out.

While the San Marcos Fire Department was fighting the Gold Crown fire, the New Braunfels Fire Department helped by responding to San Marcos calls. South Hays County Fire Department got involved as well by provided aid at the scene of the fire.

Clean up and an investigation of the fire continued through Friday morning. Officials are still unsure about how much damaged was caused by the fire.
