SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) - Hernandez Elementary School in San Marcos was evacuated Wednesday morning after the smoke smell of smoke was reported.

The evacuation was ordered about 8:20 am, although no source was immediately identified.

School officials said the move was made as a precaution. The San Marcos Fire Department was called in to conduct a search and air quality monitoring.
