NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) - A former New Braunfels Christian Academy basketball teacher is charged with having sexual relations with a student.
According to an arrest warrant released Monday, 44-year-old Leon Sneed told New Braunfels police that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl at the school in 2011, while he was employed as a basketball coach for the school.
Sneed agreed to turn himself in on Sept. 14 but failed to show up, police said. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He finally surrendered to auuthorities on Tuesday.
Sneed is charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony.
Police said Sneed is associated with various youth basketball organizations around the New Braunfels and San Antonio area.
