HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Hays County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a sexual assault of a female who was hitchhiking on Thursday afternoon.
Sergeant Phillip Taylor said the woman was allegedly picked up by a man who sexually assaulted her and stabbed her in the upper chest area. Around 12:45 p.m., he dropped her off near the intersection of State Highway 290 near the Hays and Blanco county line, west of Dripping Springs.
The female was transported to UMC Brackenridge for evaluation and treatment for her non-life threatening injuries.
HCSO did not say where she was hitchhiking from or what her destination was.
On Friday, HCSO released information which said detectives are in the process of working with the victim on details of the incident, including getting a solid description of the suspect and his vehicle.
