SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) - Traffic on IH-35 in San Marcos is crawling due to a tractor-trailer accident near exit 205.
According to authorities, the driver of the truck lost control around 3 p.m. as he was traveling northbound on IH-35 and struck a utility pole and knocked it down. Power lines fell on the northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway.
Officers had to divert drivers onto the access road while utility crews worked on removing the power lines.
Crews are also working on cleaning up a fuel spill from one of the truck's fuel tanks.
As of 5:30 p.m., three southbound lanes are open on IH-35, but the northbound side is still reduced to one lane of traffic. First responders expect traffic to be delayed near exit 205 until approximately 7 p.m.
The driver was transported to Seton Medical Center-Hays in Kyle with minor injuries.
