Man turns himself in girlfriend's death

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) - New Braunfels Police are looking for your help to catch a suspect in a New Years Day murder.

Police were called to the 200 block of E Merriweather Street shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 1 for a welfare concern.

When officers arrived they found Melissa Eason, 27, of New Braunfels, Texas dead inside the residence.

According to Autopsy results, Eason’s cause of death was by strangulation which changed the classification of the case to a murder investigation.

New Braunfels Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Eason’s boyfriend, Nathaniel “Nate” Fox, also of New Braunfels.

Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $10,000 cash reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case, Nathaniel “Nate” Fox. Reward is valid for 60 days. Call the Comal County Crime Stoppers 24 hour Tipline 830-620-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential and will remain anonymous.

Eason’s murder remains under investigation.

Update at 8:30 p.m.: New Braunfels police said Fox turned himself in just after 6 p.m. today. Fox was taken into custody without incident.
