HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Three 18-wheelers crashed on the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Only one driver was hurt and taken to a local hospital, but the injuries were not severe.

Investigators are not sure what caused the chain reaction wreck.

Department of Public Safety troopers and San Marcos police had to shut down all the main lanes on that side of the highway to clean up debris and a small fuel spill.

They managed to clear the wreck and move the trucks over just before 7 a.m., when I-35 reopened.
