BUDA, Texas (KXAN) - An Austin police officer has been arrested after a disturbance call in Buda.
It happened Saturday at 9:23 p.m. when Hays County sheriff's deputies responded to the 100 block of Sloan Road regarding a verbal disturbance call.
Deputies said an argument began between Elias Osegueda and his wife, which they said later escalated to a physical fight.
Police said Osegueda's wife tried to call 911 but that Osegueda prevented her from doing that. She was finally able to get to a phone and call for help.
Deputies arrested Osegueda, who is an Austin police officer, and took him to the Hays County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with assault with bodily injury/family violence and interference with an emergency call, which are both Class A misdemeanors.
Osegueda is currently out on $2,000 bond.
