Greenbelt, golf courses closed

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Barton Creek Greenbelt is temporarily closed due to the inclement weather conditions associated with Tropical Storm Hermine.

The trail is expected to reopen on Friday, Sept. 10. It is closed for safety reasons and to prevent damage to the trail.

Trail patrons can get the current status of the greenbelt via the Barton Creek Greenbelt Hotline at 512-472-1267.

Officials have also closed the city's five golf courses due to rainy weather; Hancock , Jimmy Clay , Joe Balander , Roy Kizer , Lions Municipal and Morris Williams closed at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Courses will be reopened on Wednesday morning, depending on weather conditions. Golfers are encouraged to call ahead for information. Staff will be on duty Wednesday during normal hours of operation.
