Gas line repair to shut down lanes

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Crews are shutting down a lane of Cesar Chavez Street this weekend, so expect a few delays in Downtown Austin.

Texas Gas Service is performing maintenance of its natural a gas distribution system beginning Friday at Cesar Chavez and Red River streets , so they will have to close one westbound lane of Cesar Chavez Street until Sunday.

However, both eastbound lanes will remain open.

Expect a few partial closures along Red River Street, too, in the block north of Chavez Chavez Street.

The road closure will take place during nonpeak traffic times.
